The Unibet Poker management team has deemed is first-ever Unibet Online Series (UOS) a roaring success. In fact, since the final results exceeded their initial hopes and expectations, the operator is looking into making it a regular feature at Unibet Poker.
Between February 26th and March 11th, Unibet hosted 28 events with three tiers per event, that is, Nano, Low and High, which then summed up to a total of 84 tournaments. Also, the series had a combined guarantee of €300,000. The Nano tier was exclusively for tournaments with a buy-in €0.10 to €1, the Low tier was or €2 to €25 buy-ins while the High tier tournaments consisted of €25 to €100 buy-ins. Each of these tiers also included a leaderboard with a €25,000 worth of prizes as well as an overall leaderboard where the winner was awarded an invitation to the inaugural Unibet Battle of Champions scheduled for later this year.
The €100,000 guaranteed prize made the Unibet Online Series the highlight of the series especially because the guarantee was truly an ambitious one for a €100 buy-in. The guarantee was, however, narrowly missed but the €25 and €1 buy-in Main Events came very close to doubling their respective guarantees.
The €100,000 guaranteed Main Event was won by “henrymorgan” who got to add €17,600 to his bankroll. The €25 and €1 buy-in Main Events winners walked away with €3,473 and €340 respectively. Unibet Ambassador and The Chip Race podcast co-host David Lappin finished atop the High and Overall leaderboard with winnings worth €2,200 which was accompanied by a seat in the nine-player Battle of the Champions. Four winners of the 2018 Unibet Online Series Leaderboards and winners from the Unibet Live Tours will be featured in 2018’s Battle of Champions which will be a streamed event.

David Pomroy, the Head of Poker at Unibet is particularly impressed by the impressive figures that the Unibet Online Series posted in relation to poker. Furthermore, the figures were complemented by the overwhelmingly positive customer feedback that the company received.
“We initially felt that the guarantees we set for this series were ambitious, particularly with a €100,000 main event, and we expected higher overlays. The final results exceeded our hopes and expectations and we’re delighted that there was such a strong appetite for these events, both from our existing players and newcomers to the platform. As always, we’ve been fortunate to receive plenty of feedback from players and are already putting together the next series which will take place from 28th May – 11th June. The results from this UOS will allow us to be even more ambitious with the next series and also give us the confidence to be more aggressive with the guarantees on our regular schedule. It’s also great to see the Battle of Champions line-up starting to take shape!” Pomroy said.
